Commissioner’s role

The Commissioner is attached to the Office des professions du Québec and tasked by law to, among other things:

  • examine any complaint about admission to a profession;
  • monitor the operation of any process or activity relating to admission to a profession.

The Commissioner analyzes whether your file was handled fairly, objectively, transparently, consistently and efficiently. After inquiry and analysis, the Commissioner can propose solutions and recommend that we look at your file again.

Important

Only the OIIQ can make a decision regarding your competencies and decide if they will be recognized.

Filing a complaint with the Commissioner does not constitute a counter-assessment of your competencies or an appeal or review mechanism for our decision.
